Hairapy Salon has a fresh new look and a new home inside Sarah’s Hair Studio in Rockport. We’re separate businesses sharing one creative space—so while the building is shared, the experience is all Hairapy.

📍 Where is Hairapy Salon located now?
Hairapy Salon is now located inside Sarah’s Hair Studio at The Suite Company in Rockport, ME. We’re sharing a space but running as two separate businesses.
👨👩👧 Do you cut men's and children’s hair?
Absolutely. I offer lifestyle-based cuts for everyone—including the guys, the little ones, and all the folks in between.
🌞 What is balayage, and why do you specialize in it?
Balayage is a hand-painted color technique that gives a sun-kissed, low-maintenance vibe with softer grow-out. It’s personalized and artistic—just like Hairapy.
🚫 What’s your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice for changes or cancellations. No-shows will be charged 100% of their service.
🧼 How should I prep for my appointment?
Clean, dry hair is best. Feel free to bring inspo pics—or just your awesome self. We’ll figure it out together.
📋 Not sure what to book?
Totally fine! Message me or book a free consult. I’ll help match you to the right service.
💍 Do you do weddings and formal styles?
You bet! Bridal styling and event hair are some of my faves. Reach out for info on packages and availability.
💳 What payment types do you take?
Square or Venmo is my go-to. I accept all major cards, Apple Pay, and tap-to-pay. Tips are appreciated but never expected.
🍿 Can I bring snacks?
Snacks are encouraged. Bonus points if you share.

Of course! Just let me know so we can keep the chill energy flowing.
🎶 Do you play music?
Yes, always! Expect Grateful Dead, Phish, Fleetwood Mac, and more feel-good vibes.

Appointments are best, but keep an eye on socials for any last-minute openings!
About Your Stylist
Hey, I’m Deserea-the heart and hands behind Hairapy Salon. I began my hair career when I was freshly 18 years old, and for the past 13 years i've been your personal hair hype girl. I’ve worked in every kind of salon setting you can imagine—big, small, edgy, traditional—trying to find a space that truly fit. Eventually, I realized I wasn’t meant to find that place. I was meant to create it.
That’s how Hairapy Salon was born.
Over the last five years, Hairapy has grown into more than just a salon—it’s a vibe. It’s a safe, cozy, expressive space where you can be 100% yourself. I’ve always believed that getting your hair done should feel like self-care, not a chore. Hairapy is all about connection, creativity, and customized color that’s as unique as you are. Around here, you come in as a stranger but leave as a friend.
I specialize in Balayage, which is a hand-painted highlighting technique that gives hair that sun-kissed, effortless glow. Unlike traditional foils, Balayage blends seamlessly into your natural color, grows out like a dream, and creates soft, dimensional beauty that feels lived-in and luminous. It’s art, not just hair.
My passion lies in blonding, dimensional color, and personalized haircuts tailored to your lifestyle, vibe, and natural texture. I’ve trained across the country—from the coast of Maine to LA-staying inspired and educated in the latest techniques to keep Hairapy fresh and modern.
After a year-long maternity leave (and a lot of dry shampoo), I’m back in the studio and more excited than ever to be behind the chair. My daughter, Rhea Sunshine, turned one this summer, and life with her—and my incredibly supportive husband, Armando—has made everything that much more meaningful. We live right here in Rockland with our two mischief-making corgis, Yamper and Wilson.
Hairapy is now located within Sarah’s Hair Studio in Rockport, but we’re our own independent business. New look, new home, same heart. I can’t wait to welcome you in, share some laughs, and hand paint a little beauty into your day.
